One of the Ford Execs I met last week filled me in on it. They say this will discourage rampant price gouging and the like. That and they want to reward people who will take it out a lot, track it, that sort of stuff. Because at the end of the day, this is a carbon fibre marketing exercise.

I had a chance to sit in this new GT at an industry preview for the NAIAS.
My brother and I are taller than average but at 6'1" and 6'3", we are by no means out of the ordinary. There was no way we could both sit comfortably in that passenger compartment, when we sat straight our shoulders touched and if the driver were to manipulate any center-stack controls his elbow would rub awkwardly on the passenger’s thigh.
The Ford GT is NOT A PRODUCTION CAR! The GT is a race car designed to promote Ford’s EcoBoost V6 engines. It’s a shame actual production sports cars will have to compete against the GT in the same class.

I probably read that 2007 post on Jalopnik, but I didn’t start commenting until 2008. Searching for Ford GT information is how I found Jalopnik. Like everyone, I lurched for awhile before joining in.
Good find on Vimeo video.........it’s very similar to the one I found on YouTube and have posted several times. The YouTube one is a bit longer.

You’re welcome. I guess I don't search for Ford GT stuff as much as you but I'm still surprised I hadn't seen the Youtube version of the BTS. The Vimeo one is HD and was only uploaded a couple of months back by a guy who seems to have been involved in making it.
